| Senior Solutions Applications Architect |
We are looking to appoint a Senior Solutions Architect that is also a subject matter expert in the areas of applications design and development within .Net/Java for translating the client's requirements into IT solutions. Working closely with the project managers/sales leads, the architect is then responsible for the solution through all stages of the project lifecycle: from conception through to the gathering of the requirements, pre-sales, blueprints, providing the definition of the architecture through to testing and then production implementation.
You will need to display current experience of software development using .NET/Java teamed with the ability of excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The role as a senior member of the team includes:
Responsibility for leading the development and integration of applications and business processes that can integrate clients' applications to new and emerging technologies. Proven ability to develop functional and technical specifications and be client focused and able to deliver to agreed budgets and timelines.
Other responsibilities include:
Communication with client personnel and executives.
Ability to understand the business, ensuring business value is delivered, ability to identify areas where additional value can be added to the business.
Sales/solution phase or during the project startup phase.
Providing technical guidance to the delivery team: making architecture and design decisions, providing assistance to and mentor other team members, performing quality reviews on deliverables.
Management: experience of scope and risk management, ability to define and present options to resolve project issues and risk mitigations.
Technical:
Ability to create Functional and Technical specification documentation for presentation to clients.
.NET/Java development tools.
Familiar with modern SDLCs including RAD, MSF and SSADM and with Microsoft .NET/Java System patterns and practices.
Technical skills
Experience with J2EE/MS.Net, UML, OOAD and multi-tier software architecture
3+ years with J2EE technology including JSP, Servlets, Java Beans, and JDBC, XML, XSL, XSLT, and Java based XML API's
2+ years experience with BRE technology (eg. Blaze Advisor, JRules, JBoss Rules, etc)
Knowledge and experience with MS.Net advantageous
Familiarity with multiple application servers (Weblogic, WebSphere, iPlanet etc.) RDBMS, IDEs etc.
Experience with iterative software development processes such as RUP, FDD or XP
You will also be able to identify needs for technical resources outside your own area whilst also having the ability to get that commitment from the customer of the needed resources to help with the development of the overall solution.
Due the seniority of this position consultants must be a highly experienced practitioner in the planning, design and implementation of the application architecture for an enterprise or major programs. Contact for questions and queries are directed to:
